Frequencies and presence walk together along the shore.
A NJ state park ecosystem, this barrier island has 400 plants identified and stretches for 10 miles between the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay. It embodies maritime plants and diverse wildlife similar to thousands of years ago, as it holds my presence in its arms.
Sitting on a sand dune on the Atlantic side, never has sound been more alive, omnipresent. Never have I been more still, enveloped in its wide range of wave frequencies. A stillness necessary to the survival of my true self.

Tamara Yadao • she/her • Brooklyn
Tamara Yadao, Asian-American musician/artist, works with free improvisation, performance art, repurposed objects/toys and processed instruments. She is active in several NYC-based experimental music ensembles as well as her chiptune-adjacent, art pop project, Corset Lore, where she writes music in a lyrical and baroque style using Game Boy, synths and vocals.
